Wendy moved to New York in 1996 to pursue a career in theatre and spent more than twenty years working as a lighting designer and master electrician with organizations including The Public Theater, Manhattan Theatre Club, and Shakespeare in the Park.
She discovered the French Church du Saint-Esprit in 2017 after meeting the Rev. Nigel Massey and Chantal Missamou on a Cursillo retreat. Drawn by the warmth and hospitality of the parish, she quickly became an active member, serving on the altar guild and helping wherever needed.
Wendy is also a dedicated member of St. Bartholomew’s Church in Manhattan, where she serves as a verger, crucifer, and acolyte. A longtime leader in the Cursillo movement, she served as Lay Rector for Cursillo #116 in the Episcopal Diocese of New York and has also served as verger at the Cathedral of St. John the Divine, most recently for the ordination of the Rev. Joris Bürmann.
A recent graduate of Education for Ministry (EfM), Wendy is currently discerning a call to ordained vocational diaconal ministry in The Episcopal Church.
Honored to serve as Parish Administrator of “The Little French Church,” Wendy is delighted to support this vibrant and welcoming community she has come to love.
Wendy s’est installée à New York en 1996 pour se lancer dans une carrière dans le théâtre et a travaillé pendant plus de vingt ans comme conceptrice lumière et chef électricienne au sein d’organisations telles que le Public Theater, le Manhattan Theatre Club et Shakespeare in the Park.
Elle a découvert l’église française du Saint-Esprit en 2017 après avoir rencontré le révérend Nigel Massey et Chantal Missamou lors d’une retraite Cursillo.
Séduite par la chaleur et l’hospitalité de la paroisse, elle en est rapidement devenue un membre actif, s’engageant au sein de la guilde de l’autel et apportant son aide partout où cela était nécessaire.
Wendy est également un membre dévoué de l’église St. Bartholomew’s à Manhattan, où elle occupe les fonctions de sacristine, de porteuse de croix et d’acolyte. Leader de longue date au sein du mouvement Cursillo, elle a occupé le poste de rectrice laïque du Cursillo n° 116 dans le diocèse épiscopal de New York et a également été sacristine à la cathédrale Saint-Jean-le-Divin, plus récemment à l’occasion de l’ordination du révérend Joris Bürmann.
Récemment diplômée du programme Education for Ministry (EfM), Wendy réfléchit actuellement à une vocation au ministère diaconal ordonné au sein de l’Église épiscopale.
Honorée d’occuper le poste d’administratrice paroissiale de « The Little French Church », Wendy est ravie de soutenir cette communauté dynamique et accueillante qu’elle a appris à aimer.
