Theologian in Residence
Born in Brittany, France, Joris has been since August 2024 St Esprit’s theologian in residence. After a MA in French literature at the Sorbonne and the Ecole normale supérieure (Paris) he finally answered God’s call to ordained ministry, studying theology and ministry at the Institut Protestant de Théologie and at Harvard Divinity School (MDiv 21’). Don’t hesitate to talk with him about two of his many pet subjects: the history of New Amsterdam and the relation of liturgy and food! At St Esprit, Joris teaches the Bible studies with the Rector and assist the team in pastoral care. He is also one of the French language teachers (intermediate and Book Club!) and a translator of hymns.
